ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) -A Pennsylvania truck driver was killed Friday morning near the Love’s Truck Stop west of Angola when his load of steel came loose and crashed through his cab.
Angola Police say 44-year-old Shawn Spencer of Rome, Pennsylvania was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident on U.S. 20 west of I-69 which took place at about 6:20am.Spencer was operating a Todd Berguson Trucking Company truck. WANE-TV says he slammed on his brakes for an unknown reason.
The steel load covered the roadway. West bound U.S. 20 was closed to through traffic for about five hours while an investigation was conducted.
The crash currently remains under investigation.
