UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles closed out the Big 8 Conference softball schedule on Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of the Union City Chargers.
Quincy traveled to Union City and came away with back to back shut out victories, winning by scores of 14-0 and 10-0.
Danika Skirka was the winning pitcher in both games as she struck out nine in the doubleheader.
Skirka helped her own cause by going 6 for 7 on the day at the plate.
McKynna Connin had three singles and two triples while Kailey Allman had four singles.
The Orioles collected 28 hits in the doubleheader.
Mackenzie Hale had two hits for the Chargers including a double.
The Orioles will face the Chargers again on May 30 in the start of the District Tournament that will be hosted by Union City.
