COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says if you come across a discarded methamphetamine lab, leave it alone and call them or call 911.
Detective Sergeant Dan Nichols says only those certified and trained in disposing of meth labs should handle them.
Meth labs are normally discovered during the spring when the snow melts but Nichols says they have had more discoveries this year.
Most have been found south of Bronson and along dirt roads because the meth labs dumpers don’t want to be seen by anyone.
Nichols says they found over a dozen discarded meth labs in about ten days and it’s unusual to find that many in such a short amount of time.
