TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – A retirement reception will be held next Wednesday, May 31 for long time Tekonsha Athletic Director Tim Jenkins.
It will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Tekonsha High School cafeteria.
Jenkins will be retiring at the end of the school year after serving as A.D. for 30 years.
He was honored in March by the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association for his years of service as an athletic director.
In a letter read to the Tekonsha Board of Education during their April meeting, Jenkins said, “I served 30 years at Tekonsha Schools, and I am honored to end my career here. To say I enjoyed my time here would be a huge understatement.”
Besides being the A.D., Jenkins has spent 26 years teaching at Tekonsha Schools and he has 38 total years working as an educator.
Meanwhile, Tekonsha High School has head coaching openings for boys basketball, football and girls volleyball. Interested candidates should contact Jenkins at tjenkins@tekonsha.k12.mi.us or call (517) 767-4121, extension 2000.
