COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater advanced in the M.H.S.A.A. Division Two baseball district tournament they are hosting at Lowe Field on Friday afternoon with a 12-2 pre-district victory over Pennfield.
Winning pitcher Cam Heinemann struck out eight in six innings of work. He helped his own caused with a home run and three RBI’s.
The Cardinals featured a balanced offensive attack on Friday as Cam Heinemann, Garrett Johns, Drake Thornton, Owen Tappenden and Ian Stough all collected two hits.
Thornton scored three runs while Tappenden, Stough and Cole Heinemann all drove in two runs.
Coldwater is now 17-21. They will face Harper Creek in the district semifinals next Saturday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m..
Marshall plays Parma Western in the second semifinal at 12:00 noon. The championship game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m..
