EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The season opener against Rutgers is set for this Saturday, but Michigan State University has not yet named a starting quarterback.
Spartans head coach Mel Tucker said this week’s practice will be used to determine if sophomore Theo Day, junior Rocky Lombardi or redshirt freshman Payton Thorne will be under center.
Tucker said there’s been fierce competition at so many positions including quarterback and that the team is fortunate to have multiple QBs they feel that can get the job done.
