FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – Police in Indiana and Ohio are also looking for two suspects from Burr Oak following Tuesday’s robbery of the Century Bank and Trust branch in Quincy.
The Branch County Prosecutors Office has issued multiple warrants for 32-year-old John T. Morgan and his 29-year-old girlfriend Nickole Collins. The couple have been known to frequent southern Michigan, northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.
Morgan is wanted on three counts of bank robbery, three counts of unarmed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery. Collins is also facing bank robbery and conspiracy to commit bank robbery charges.
Even though no weapon was reported during the Quincy robbery, police say both suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
Morgan is considered a suspect in a number of other area robberies although no formal charges have been filed.
There were a steady stream of Michigan State Police troopers coming in and out of the Branch County Prosecutors Office on Thursday morning. Attempts to contact Branch County Prosecutor Ralph Kimble were unsuccessful on Thursday as we were told he was in court. Our phone calls were also not returned.
Morgan and Collins were arrested on March 14, 2016 in Williams County, Ohio after the Michigan State Police said they were wanted on outstanding felony warrants for possession of heroin and marijuana as well as for maintaining a drug house.
After being brought back to Michigan to face charges, they were later released after posting bond in St. Joseph County. That is not sitting well with the Sheriff in Williams County, Ohio. Sheriff Steve Towns told the Bryan Times that releasing Morgan was unacceptable and that there was no rational explanation for it.
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of John T. Morgan and Nickole Collins, contact Branch County Central Dispatch at (517) 278-3091 or Steuben County Communications at (260) 665-3131 if they are in the Steuben County area.
