WAYNE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater native Zoe Nowicki won her first championship belt on Saturday at the Lights Out Championship 12 MMA event.
Nowicki sunk in an arm bar in the second round which forced her opponent to submit.
That gave the 23-year-old Nowicki the Lights Out Championship Amateur Women’s Flyweight Championship.
She began her career in M.M.A. last October after wrestling at Adrian College and at Coldwater High School.
She and her brother both qualified for the 2018 M.H.S.A.A. Individual Wrestling Finals at 112 pounds.
