COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will be asked on Monday night to approve the purchase of one of two police vehicles that were budgeted for 2020-2021.
Public Safety Director Joe Scheid says he has gotten a quote of over $32,000 from Cole Story Ford on a 2021 Ford Interceptor Explorer Patrol Unit.
Scheid says in his memo to the Council that the purchase of two units will help keep the fleet of patrol units in good operating order.
He would like to move forward with the purchase of one unit immediately and a second unit after the first of the year.
Scheid adds while it seems like the department just took delivery of their last patrol units, a delay in delivery was directly related to COVID issues, along with production problems that Ford was experiencing.
