COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker and City Attorney Megan Angell had their scheduled pay raises doubled on Monday night by the Coldwater City Council.
They were in line to get a 2 1/2 percent salary increase at the start of the fiscal year on Saturday.
Council member Travis Machan told Mayor Tom Kramer he felt Baker and Angell should get a raise that would be in line with the five percent pay increase that the Coldwater B.P.U. Board recently approved for Director Paul Jakubczak.
The action was not on the agenda and it came under new business near the end of Monday’s meeting that lasted almost two hours.
The City Manager and the City Attorney are the only employees whose salaries are overseen by the City Council.
Angell has been the City Attorney since late 2016. Baker became City Manager the following year.
