Coldwater and other locations in southwest Michigan saw the price of gas jump on Friday to over $2 a gallon.
The web site www.michigangasprices.com says many stations around Coldwater were selling regular unleaded for $2.09 a gallon.
They also say the average price for gas in Michigan was $2.02 on Friday which is 30 cents higher than a month ago. It’s also higher the national average of $1.98.
The price of gas hasn’t been this high since right before Thanksgiving.
Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com says the jump is thanks, in part, to a rally in the price of crude which went over $40 a barrel this week for the first time since last December. But he also says a minor correction could be around the corner.
