COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will consider a resolution on Monday night that would cover advertising in the Dr. Robert Browne Recreation Center as well as other facilities.
City Manager Jeff Budd says in his memo to the City Council since the facility is a kid-friendly environment, they want to exclude the promotion of smoking and alcohol as well as other adult products and subjects. Budd says they also drafted the policy to prevent political, sexually explicit or other advertising that may be offensive or disturbing to facility users. He adds the primary goal of the advertising is to raise funds for the future maintenance and equipment purchases. Also on tonights agenda will be a presentation on the fundraising for the replacement of the tennis courts at Heritage Park. Organizers have raised the $50,000 locally that was necessary to allow for a “crowdfunding” match from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
