COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There is now a firm date as to when Branch County Board of Commissioners Chair Ted Gordon will be leaving the board.
He said near the end of Tuesday’s meeting his last day with the county will be on November 14 after he purchased a home in St. Joseph County.
Gordon’s term expires at the end of December. He decided not to seek another term in this years election.
Jon Houtz will take over the District Four seat which covers the First, Second and Third Wards in the City of Coldwater on January 1, 2021.
Houtz won his August Republican primary and is running unopposed in next Tuesday’s General Election.
It’s expected Houtz will be named to serve out the last six weeks of Gordon’s term.
