COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A longtime Coldwater businessman and community leader has passed away. Richard “Dick” White, 83, died Thursday at the Maple Lawn Medical Care Faclity.
White came to Coldwater in 1958, purchasing what would become White Chevrolet. In partnership with his father and brother, he owned and operated the dealership until it was sold in 1970. At that time he, with his wife Delores, purchased Cutcher Supply in Coldwater. Soon after, the business was renamed White Supply Company. In 1978 they purchased Sturgis Supply Company in Sturgis.
In addition, Dick White served as past president of the Coldwater Country Club, Chamber of Commerce, Branch County MSU Alumni Association, and the Michigan Association of Distributors. He was a member of Noon Rotary, the Elks, and the National Chairman for the State of Michigan’s American Cancer Society.
The funeral for Dick White will be held Tuesday, March 8 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
