COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While much of southern lower Michigan got blasted by snow Tuesday morning, causing the closing of many schools, Branch County missed out. That was until freezing rain began midday Tuesday, then turned into several inches of snow Tuesday afternoon in a one hour period.
The ice under the snow caused treacherous driving conditions around the county this morning, forcing the closing of all county schools. By midday Wednesday, many roads in the county were clear and dry, because of the combination of plowing, warmer temperatures, and some sunshine.
Temperatures by Monday are expected to be near 50, and hitting 60 by Tuesday.
