COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service has now extended the Winter Storm Warning for Branch County from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until 4:00 p.m. Thursday with the prediction of 8-12 inches of heavy, wet snow. As of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, freezing rain moved into the Hillsdale County area, causing the closing of schools such as Pittsford, Litchfield, and Jonesville.
The snowfall is expected to intensify throughout the day Wednesday, with 4-8 inches expected during the day and gusty winds from the northeast. Another 2-4 inches are possible Wednesday night, with windy conditons and 1-2 inches of new snow Thursday.
