COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Seasonal road weight restrictions for Branch County probably won’t be enforced by the Branch County Road Commission for another week or so but beginning today, weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunk line highways from the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana state line north to I-96.
The mid-winter thaw over the next few days will make the area’s roadways vulnerable to an outbreak of potholes and having heavy trucks rolling over roads that just aren’t designed to handle the load would make the situation even worse.
