COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With the surge in COVID-19 cases continuing, the Branch County Board of Commissioners will continue to hold work sessions and regular meetings via teleconference for the rest of the year.
Work sessions where Commissioners set the agenda for the next regular meeting are scheduled for November 5 and 19 as well as for December 3 and 17.
Regular meetings are scheduled for November 10 and 24 as well as for December 8 and 22.
The last in person meeting for Commissioners took place on March 10 just hours before Governor Whitmer announced the first two positive cases of Coronavirus in the State of Michigan. They have been forced to hold virtual meetings since March 27 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Thursday there were 21 new COVID-19 cases in Branch County which brought the total number of cases since March up to 817. Statistics showed there have been 170 new cases in Branch County over the last two weeks.
There had been 288 COVID-19 cases reported up until August third in Branch County. Since that day there have been 529 Branch County cases reported by local health officials.
