Penny Ann Cook, 69, of Quincy, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Arlana Connin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
She was born December 20, 1953, in Coldwater, MI to Ernest and Minnie (Bradley) Miller. She married Brian Cook on October 11, 1980. They would have celebrated 43 years of marriage this October.
Penny was the youngest of 12 and went on to grow an enormous family of her own through foster parenting and adoption. She was one of the most generous people in the world to all. She was loved by all who had the honor to know her, and for that will be greatly missed more than words could say.
Survivors include her husband, Brian; children, Penny Moody, Barry Cook, Allen Cook, Josh Cook, Adam (Maryi Roxanne) Cook, Silas (Kimberley) Stevens, Jenny (David) Houvener, Amy (Jim) Cook, Mary Cook, Michelle McGill, Gabby Stevens and Lexus Cook; grandchildren; Mercedes (Jordan) Smith, Kelsey and Travis Cook, Kaisha Jackson, Kyler and Chevelle Houvener, Ezra Stevens, Benjamin Romine, Riley Johnson and Dewayne Chatfield; siblings; Robert “Bobby” Miller, Raymond Miller, James “Jim” (Deb) Miller, Donnie Miller and Sharon Robbins; best friend, Laura Gropp; and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Minnie Miller; sons, Devin and RJ Cook; grandchildren, Jacob and Jason Cook-Houvener; daughter-in-law, Brandy Cook; and siblings, Orville, Mitchell “Mickey”, Jerry, Loretta, Billy and Jeffery in infancy.
