FLINT, MI (WTVB) – U.S. health officials, the Governor and Flint officials are now urgently warning residents to get their water tested or test it themselves, because the filters they have been handing out to homeowners may not be getting the job done. Apparently the filters were only designed to take out relatively low levels of lead, to turn typical tap water into something that is even more pristine. They were never designed to handle major contaminations. The Filters have a ceiling of about 150 parts per billion for lead. Some homes have tested at 4,000 parts per billion.
