Douglas Russell Brinkman, 60, of Detroit, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital in Mt. Clemens, MI.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Matteson Cemetery with Pastor Terry Siler officiating.
The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Douglas was born February 9, 1963 in Honolulu, HI to James and Linda (Davis) Brinkman. Doug was a 1983 graduate of Bronson High School.
He truly adored the sport of football and was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions. Doug was always willing to help others and enjoyed learning about and sharing the weather with those around him.
He participated in the Special Olympics and always held a desire to serve his country as a soldier and protect those he cared about. Doug will be dearly missed as a loving son, brother, and uncle to many.
Doug leaves behind his father James Brinkman of Bronson; his siblings Kenneth (Rose) Brinkman of Rockton, WI, James (Mary Jo) Brinkman of Dowling, MI, Lori Brinkman of Coldwater, Christopher (Sarah) Brinkman of Toledo, OH; his loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Linda Brinkman and his sisters Debra Jo Sabaitis and Cheryl Aguilar.
