ALBION TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – An Albion Township man was killed Sunday afternoon when his riding lawnmower was struck by a vehicle.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says they responded at about 12:15 p.m. to the 27000 block of D Drive South.
They report a passenger car driven by a 20-year-old Springport resident was traveling west on D Drive South when it struck a riding lawnmower in the roadway.
The 69-year-old operator of the riding lawnmower, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate. Currently, alcohol and drugs to not appear to be a factor in the accident.
No names have been released by the Sheriff’s Department. The investigation is ongoing.
