COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Area Careers Center’s Tot Spot Community Preschool Program has openings for this fall, and they are facing a deadline of Wednesday, August 30 of reaching an adequate enrollment.
They need to have eight youngsters for the morning session and eight in the afternoon by that day.
The morning session runs from 8:15 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. and it is a half-day Great Start Readiness Program class.
The afternoon session is a half-day tuition program which runs from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m.
With enrollment below the adequate level, the B.I.S.D. Board of Education approved a request from Superintendent Kris Jenkins on Wednesday to issue a layoff notice to Tot Spot Program Manager Teresa Gage if the minimum number of students are not enrolled.
Applications for either Tot Spot session are available at https://branch-isd.org/earlyed/application-page/.
The district says on its web site that Tot Spot is licensed through the Michigan Department of Human Services and follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children program standards for developmentally appropriate practice.
For over forty years, Tot Spot has served as a vocational learning lab for the Branch Area Careers Center Education Professions Program.
