COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Police say there was a gas station armed robbery in the city last night. It happened moments after 10 p.m. at the Admiral Station on West Chicago at Walnut Street.
According to police, a lone bandit confronted the male clerk and demanded cash. The clerk told officers the robber had a hand gun that was covered up but said he had no doubts it was a weapon. The man who was wearing a ski mask fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money and then possibly escaped in a small passenger car with a loud exhaust.
The suspect was described as a white male, about five foot nine with a medium build. A Michigan State Police canine unit assisted but with no success and the search for the robber was called off around 11:45 p.m.
There were several customers pumping gas when the holdup happened but again, no injuries were reported.
