DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school basketball, the Coldwater Lady Cardinals improved to 7-0 Friday morning as they rallied in the second half to defeat Waterford Kettering 51-44 in the Motor City Roundball Classic at Detroit Collegiate Preparatory Academy.
Coldwater fell behind 11-7 after the first quarter and 29-22 at the half but a 18-7 third quarter turned the game in the Cardinals favor.
That gave Coldwater a 40-36 lead heading into the final stanza and they didn’t trail after that.
McDonald’s Player of the Game Carlee Crabtree scored a game-high 14 points for the Cardinals, and tournament organizers also named her the MVP of the game. Olivia Foley came off the bench to score 10 points.
