COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a request from City Manager Keith Baker Wednesday night to release a $10.9 million performance bond that was required by the City of Coldwater from the Clemens Food Group to ensure the company met its obligation for the Community Development Block Grant funding from the State of Michigan.
Baker says in a letter that as of December 17, 2017, Clemens is employing 831 team members and Clemens has invested over $300 million in the facility on Newton Road, which opened for business in September.
Council members also approved the consolidation of quit claim deeds for the Community Health Center of Branch County and Branch County Building Authority.
City Attorney Megan Angell said nearly two dozen parcel descriptions would be consolidated into two.
ProMedica of Toledo will be taking over operations at the hospital on New Year’s Day.
