COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Former Branch County Economic Growth Alliance Executive Director Lisa Miller was honored during a reception Monday night before the Coldwater City Council meeting.
Miller retired on July 1 and turned her duties over to her assistant Audrey Tappenden.
Coldwater Mayor Tom Kramer issued the following proclamation…
WHEREAS, the Coldwater City Council wishes to formally recognize and appropriately honor Lisa Miller for the improvement of the well-being of the citizens of Coldwater through her many years of faithful and dedicated service to the City of Coldwater and Branch County; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Miller was first hired by the City in April 1986 as a temporary employee for the Downtown’s Main Street Project, she has since served over the years as the acting Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Director, Executive Director of the DDA and Executive Director of the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance and Economic Development Manager of the City of Coldwater; and
WHEREAS, while Executive Director of the Coldwater DDA, Lisa had many achievements including the management of the restoration of the Roosevelt School building as well as the initiation and coordination of the City’s Downtown Street Scape Project; and
WHEREAS, while serving as the Executive Director for the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance (BCEGA), her responsibilities included the attraction, expansion and retention of new and existing business within Branch County; and
WHEREAS, among her many accomplishments, Mrs. Miller was instrumental in the recruitment of the Walmart Distribution Center, Mastronardi Produce and Clemens Food Group leading to the creation of over three thousand jobs to date; and
WHEREAS, within the community, Mrs. Miller served as Special Projects Coordinator at the Community Health Center of Branch County, Secretary of the Community Health Center of Branch County Foundation Board, Star Commonwealth Board and multiple fundraising committees for the City and Coldwater Community Schools, including the recent Tennis Complex Renovation and Children’s Museum of Branch County projects; and
WHEREAS, after many years of dedicated service with the City of Coldwater and Branch County, Mrs. Miller and her husband Kurt are moving to the City of Holland, Michigan;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE KNOWN, that the Coldwater City Council on behalf of the citizens of the City of Coldwater, does hereby express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Lisa Miller for her many years of dedicated service to the City of Coldwater and greater Branch County and offers its best wishes for her continued success and prosperity.
