COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Crews from the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities are conducting the bi-annual flushing of hydrants this week.
CBPU crews are flushing out hydrants throughout the city through Friday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m..
Hydrant flushing started with Ward 1. Flushing will follow in Wards 4, 2, and 3.
Officials say this process ensures water quality and that the City’s water distribution systems are working properly.
Residents can track the progress of CBPU crews with the Hydrant Flushing Map.
While hydrant flushing is taking place, motorists should proceed with caution through the detour area.
You may notice a slight discoloration in your water during the flushing. If this happens, officials say you should slowly run cold water out of your faucet until the water becomes clear.
If you have any additional questions, contact the CBPU’s Water Department at (517) 279-9531.
