LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Three of the 22 new Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers who graduated from recruit school Thursday will be assigned to our area.
Nicholas Wellman will be assigned to Branch County while Jeremy Cantrell and Kyle McQueer will be assigned to St. Joseph County.
The new graduates completed 23 weeks of training before getting their certificates and badges which were pinned on them by family members
The latest graduating class was comprised of 16 men and six women.
If all of the officers complete their one year probationary periods, the number of Michigan D.N.R. conservation officers will increase to 231.
The probation period includes another 20 weeks of specialized training.
