QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Two homes were damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon in Branch County’s Algansee Township.
The Quincy Fire Department was notified by 911 to respond to the blaze at 3:40 p.m. after a number of people called Central Dispatch to report the fire that occurred on Bickford Drive. The Quincy Fire Department Facebook page said firefighters found the two dwellings ablaze when they reached the scene east of Fremont Road south of Archer Lake. They said both homes are considered vacation homes and were not occupied at the time of the fire while adding that the blaze is not suspicious in nature and that no injuries were reported.
According to the fire department, which was on the job for nearly 3 hours, more information will be released this morning as they finish their investigation.
Assisting in fighting the flames were the Coldwater Fire Department with manpower and a tanker with mutual aid as well from the Fremont, Indiana Fire Department.
