BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – President Donald Trump got over 2,000 more votes than he did in 2016 as to no ones surprise he carried heavily Republican Branch County in Tuesday’s election.
Trump defeated Democratic challenger Joe Biden 14,066 to 6,161 on Tuesday as the President carried all 22 precincts.
When he carried Michigan in 2016, Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in Branch County 11,814 to 5,076.
In the U.S. Senate race, Republican challenger John James defeated Michigan Democratic Senator Gary Peters in Branch County of Tuesday, 13,685 to 6,121. James won 21 out of 22 precincts. Peters won the first precinct in Coldwater 477-457.
When James lost to Michigan’s other Democratic U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow in 2018, he defeated the incumbent in Branch County 9,666 to 5,144.
