Russell Dale Fenningsdorf, 71, of Quincy died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in Marshall following a brief illness.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at Eagle Funeral Home’s Quincy Chapel from 12 noon-2:00 p.m.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Quincy.
The family will host a catered meal at the Country Wedding Chapel, 295 S. Ray Quincy Road, Quincy, immediately following burial.
Russell was born September 19, 1952, at Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit to Willard and Lillian (nee Wright, later Mann) Fenningsdorf. He married Sharon (Lemke) Fenningsdorf in Quincy on April 9, 2005, and she survives.
For many years, Russell worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed NASCAR and slot car racing, watching WWE wrestling, camping, classic cars and classic car shows and the company of his cats. He loved to make people laugh by telling outlandish tales.
In addition to his wife, Russell is survived by a daughter, Kayla Fenningsdorf of Pasco, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Jamie (Andrew) Barrand of Coldwater and Jodi (Scott) Barba of Redford; a brother, Ronald Fenningsdorf of Navarre, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Fenningsdorf (Richard) Lensky of Banker’s Lake; eight grandchildren and four nephews.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two sons, James and Brandon Fenningsdorf; a brother, William Fenningsdorf; and a sister, Donna Gallatin.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Humane Society of Branch County. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
