COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In case you see all of the flashing lights on the east side of Coldwater Thursday evening, don’t worry.
The fifth annual Branch County Shop with a Cop program will take place once again at the Coldwater Wal-Mart store.
A total of 33 children selected by the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence will have dinner with the police and firefighters. They will then be paired up with a Branch County police officer or firefighter to shop for their parents, siblings, Toys for Tots and themselves.
The Shop with a Cop program is made possible with private donations and a golf outing put on by the Lakeland Correctional Facility this summer. Over $4,200 was raised from this year’s golf outing.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police Troopers, Coldwater firefighters, local officers and officers from the Michigan Department of Corrections will be taking part.
