COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of the big events in Branch County during the holiday season happened Tuesday, as the Community Health Center of Branch County Volunteers held their annual Celebration of Lights.
The Coldwater High School Balladiers performed several songs of the season during the evening for the 17th year of the Celebration of Lights. Hospital President and CEO Randy DeGroot told the audience last night at the CHC Community Care and Conference Center how the event recognizes with the reading of names in honor of and in memory of those who are dear to many and have had a significant impact on their lives.
De Groot said while we remember those who have been lost, it’s also a time to join with friends and family in the community to celebrate the lives of those who are near to us and to celebrate the memories of those we hold close in our hearts.
Proceeds from the Celebration of Lights which has raised nearly $110,000 over the years go towards the CHC Garden of Hope and the Memorial Garden. Money is raised through the purchase of the blue lights that decorate during the holiday season the special tree which is located on the east side of the hospital near the Health Center’s main entrance.
