COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County is looking to get grant funding which would help pay for the installation of a building treatment system that is designed to kill COVID-19 viruses and improve air circulation.
County Administrator Bud Norman told the Board of Commissioners during their Thursday work session this system is already installed at the 911 Center and it will be part of the new jail.
Norman hopes a COVID-19 grant will be awarded to the county.
Two bids have been received so far. It was recommended the units be installed at the Branch County Courthouse, the Annex, and the buildings where the Community Health Agency and the M.D.H.H.S. offices are located.
Before voting to bring the matter forward to next Tuesday’s meeting, Commissioners suggested to Norman that the county look at installing the system in other buildings as well.
