HOLT, MI (WTVB) – In high school gymnastics, Coldwater finished tenth out of 15 teams Saturday in their season opener at the Holt Invitational. Coldwater earned their first team Regional Qualifying score of the season at 124.125 along with fifteen individual qualifiers and three personal bests.
The cooperative team of Lake Fenton, Linden, and Fowlerville claimed the title with 139.925 followed by Northville and Huron Valley United.
Sarah Hughes led Coldwater on the vault with a score of 8.6 and on the balance beam with a 7.4.
Erica Rodgers led Coldwater on the uneven bars with a score 7.675 and in floor exercise with a score of 8.4..
In the All-Around competition Claire Sheppard tallied the highest score for Coldwater at 31.125, finishing in 22nd place. Brooke Neitzert finished in 25th place at 30.8, while Hughes closed the meet in 30th place at 30.475.
Coldwater travels to Adrian on December 13th for their league opener. Their first home competition will be January 8th.
