PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – In the tip-off of the girls high school basketball season, Coldwater built a 26-7 halftime lead and cruised to a 49-12 victory at Portage Central Tuesday night.
Carlee Crabtree led Coldwater with 16 points and four steals. Malorie Rzepka had 10 points while Tyler Scheid finished with six points and six rebounds. Crabtree and Rzepka were our McDonald’s Players of the Game.
Coldwater will host Battle Creek Lakeview next Tuesday night.
Coldwater beat Portage Central 28-22 in the J.V. game. Autumn Sunderland had 10 points to lead Coldwater while Taylor Wilber had six steals and Bailey Burkhardt grabbed 11 rebounds.
Coldwater also beat Portage Central in the freshman game 26-22. Madison Beckhusen led the Cardinals with 14 points while Alyssa Bach and Abby Herman both had five rebounds.
