COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Officials with the Branch Intermediate School District are looking at making improvements to the entryway at the Branch Area Career Center.
Assistant Superintendent of Career and Technical Education Dustin Scharer told the B.I.S.D. Board of Education last Wednesday that they recently added locking doors for security at the front entrance.
They are hoping to add some window film as well to reduce the visibility from outside the locked doors and to give the entire entryway as well as the corner store area a much needed face lift.
Scharer said they had a couple initial meetings with Intersect out of the Kalamazoo area.
Preliminary design work included exterior signage, new flooring and lighting in the entryway and removing the existing display area to create a student celebration wall.
The cost of the design work would be just under $20,000 which would be the first of three phases.
The early estimates for the total cost would run from $200,000 to $560,000 depending on the final plans.
Scharer reported to the board the goal would be to stay under $400,000 for the entire project.
