BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles advanced to the semifinals of the M.H.S.A.A. Division Three Girls Volleyball District tournament at Jonesville on Monday night with a three to nothing victory over Hudson. The game scores were 25-19, 25-14, 25-13.
The Orioles will face Jonesville at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night in the second semifinal.
Addison defeated Reading three games to one (25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 25-14) in the other first round match on Monday at Jonesville. Addison will play Hillsdale in the first semifinal at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The district finals will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
In the Division Four Girls Volleyball Districts, Tekonsha’s season ended at the Bellevue district as they lost to Battle Creek St. Philip three games to nothing (25-13, 25-15, 25-20)
Pansophia Academy was eliminated by Will Carleton Academy three games to nothing (25-10, 25-18, 25-13 at the district tournament hosted by Hillsdale Academy.
Coldwater, Bronson and Union City drew opening round byes in their districts.
In the Division One Girls Volleyball district at Harper Creek, the host Beavers advanced to the semifinals with a three to nothing victory over Sturgis (25-15, 25-20, 25-23).
Coldwater will face Battle Creek Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB will start at 4:50 p.m..
Harper Creek will play Battle Creek Lakeview in the second semifinal. The winners meet in the district title match at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night.
In the Division Three Girls Volleyball district at Union City’s McNett Fieldhouse, Centreville defeated White Pigeon three games to nothing (25-19, 25-10, 25-17) on Monday night. Bronson faces Union City in the semifinals at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday followed by Constantine against Centreville.
The winners will meet in the finals which will be on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m..
