COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A second drop off of scrap tires that was organized by Branch County Government proved to me more successful than the original event which was hampered by miserable weather conditions on October 14.
Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the Board of Commissioners during their work session last Thursday after the trailer behind the Department of Health Human Services was not completely filled the first time, a second drop off was held on October 20.
The County is able to collect passenger and pickup tires for recycling every year at no charge to residents thanks to a grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy. Terms of the grant call for no more than 10 scrap tires being donated per vehicle.
