Norita E. Skinner, 88, of Bronson, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Bethel Gilead Community Church with Pastor Jim Erwin officiating.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at East Gilead Cemetery.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Norita was born August 5, 1935, in Gilead Township, MI to Earl and Naomi (Stout) Wilkins. She married Marshall G. Skinner on June 12, 1955, in East Gilead. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1993.
Mrs. Skinner retired from Bundy Tubing in April 1998, after 27 years. She had previously worked for Dancer’s Dime Store in Bronson, Lewis Poultry in Orland, IN and Kroger Egg in Coldwater.
Norita was a member of Bethel Gilead Community Church, where she was active in the Ladies Group. She also belonged to the UAW, Order of the Eastern Star and Mothers of Twins of Branch County.
Norita enjoyed gardening, cross stitch, shopping and searching for antiques. She enjoyed camping with her family, which they did extensively throughout the United States. Her love of travel, along with her friend Ann, led them to explore many European countries.
Norita is survived by her children Kim (Cindy) Skinner of McDonough, GA, Kirk (Deana) Skinner of Bronson, Kerry (Elise) Skinner of Coldwater; her grandchildren Zachary (Mandy), Bethany, Naathan, Jamie (James), Olivia, Aaron, Adam (Jenny), Avery (Erika), Kaylin (Josh), Brandon (Haylie), Jessica (Jarrod) and Autumn; 25 great grandchildren and her “adopted” grandchildren of the Erwin family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her very special friend Ann English.
