COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – More of that funny money is apparently floating around the Coldwater area.
Coldwater Police say their officers responded to a pair of calls on Wednesday about counterfeit $100 bills.
Police report the bills appear to be true notes but have the words “Only Motion Picture Purposes” written on them.
The bills are more consistent with general paper thickness and do not feel like real notes.
Coldwater Police is urging everybody to be aware of false notes and check for the built in security features of the real money.
Secret Service agents from the Treasury Department recently investigated counterfeit $100 bills which showed up in some Coldwater business cash registers.
