COLUMBUS, OH (WTVB) – It’s a vote in a neighboring state that could have a future economic impact on the City of Coldwater and the State of Michigan.
You may not see as many Ohio license plates in the parking lots of local cannabis outlets in the years to come as voters in the Buckeye State approved the legalization of recreational marijuana on Tuesday.
Issue 2 allows adults 21 and over to purchase and possess up to two-and-a-half ounces of marijuana and to grow cannabis plants in their own homes.
The proposal passed by Ohio voters is not a constitutional amendment, which means the Ohio legislature can adjust or even repeal it. Voters in Michigan approved recreational marijuana in 2018.
