COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court after he was allegedly involved in a pair of drunk driving incidents last week.
22-year-old William Robert Stayner is facing a pair of OWI charges as well as counts of possession of methamphetamine and failure to stop and identify after a property damage accident.
Michigan State Police say Stayner suffered a fractured elbow and head lacerations last Thursday night in a rollover injury accident on I-69 near Warren Road.
He was treated and released from the Community Health Center of Branch County and then booked at the county jail, where troopers say they found suspected meth in his pocket.
State Police also say Stayner was arrested the previous weekend by Quincy Village Police for suspected drunk driving so the bond he posted that allowed him to be released from jail on that charge was revoked.
His bond is now set at $100,000. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for November 22 with a preliminary exam set for November 28, 2017.
