COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A public hearing on the closure of a Community Development Block Group for the Clemens Food Group project will be held during Monday evening’s Coldwater City Council meeting.
There is no action required by the Council. The public hearing is being held to give the public a final chance to comment on the outcome of the project and the effectiveness of the incentives from the State of Michigan.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his memo to the Council that Clemens has exceeded the hiring threshold and the minimum total wage and benefit expenditure to be eligible to drawdown the final $4.8 million in CDBG grant funds from the State of Michigan.
The Council is also scheduled to take action on a $2,000 offer to buy a vacant lot at 43 Race Street. The property was bought by the city through the state’s tax foreclosure program.
