UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City say it’s last call to get your leaves out by the road for pick up.
The Village will continue leaf pick up until Friday, December 1 so residents are being asked to have leaves out by the road no later then Wednesday, November 29 to ensure they get picked up by the 1st.
Do not rake leaves into the roadway or on the asphalt. In addition, do not bag or include sticks and brush.
Make sure the area is clear for the truck to access the leaves. After leaf pick up, the village’s equipment and trucks will be converted to handle snow removal, and the leaf operation will not resume until next fall.
It’s estimated village crews pick up over 100 dump truck loads of leaves. They have also battled equipment issues.
The Union City Village Council this month voted to have the 15 year old leaf machine completely rebuilt by the manufacturer in the off season.
