COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Wednesday morning was a bad one on the streets of Coldwater as two traffic crashes took place within an hour. In all, three crashes were reported in about 75 minutes.
The first crash happened at the downtown Four Corners intersection just after 9:00 a.m. when a eastbound vehicle struck the side of a cement mixer as it was turning left from U.S. 12 to Division.
Nearly a half dozen people came to the aid of the east bound vehicle which sustained considerable front end damage.
One person was transported from the scene by Life Care Ambulance. The crash tied up traffic in the downtown area for over a half hour. The Coldwater Fire Department also responded to the crash scene.
The second crash was reported just before 10:00 a.m. at U.S. 12 and Michigan Avenue. Three vehicles were involved and one person was injured. It’s believed a medical situation involving one of the drivers may have led to the crash.
A third crash took place at around 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 12 and Daugherty when a cement truck collided with a mini van. No injuries were reported.
Coldwater Police investigated all three crashes.
