LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Four members of the latest Michigan State Police graduating class have been assigned to the Marshall post and three of them are from Branch County.
Among the 61 state troopers who graduated last week from the 144th Trooper Recruit School were Faheem Abdullah and Robert Porter of Coldwater along with Andrew Stoll of Sherwood.
Also assigned to the Marshall post was Tanner Johns of Charlotte.
Abdullah and Porter were recognized during the graduation ceremony. Abdullah received the Outstanding Performance Award while Porter received the Team Building Award.
The 144th Trooper Recruit School began on July 9 with 85 prospective troopers at the State Police Training Academy in Lansing.
According to a news release from the State Police, recruits received training in patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, cultural diversity and implicit bias, decision making, leadership, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing, firearms, water safety, defensive tactics and precision driving.
