BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has issued a request for qualification statements for engineering services associated with its Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The City is asking that the work should include an overall review of the plant and recommended system improvements. The City will use this information to help prioritize improvements and secure future funding.
John Holland from the Michigan Rural Water Association told the Bronson City Council recently he discovered some old equipment when he looked at the city’s lift stations.
Sealed bids will be publicly opened on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Bronson City Hall.
The selected engineers will be responsible for reviewing and editing the existing preliminary design for need, efficiency, improvements, and cost.
The City’s wastewater treatment plant has a current permit that allows a discharge maximum of 500,000 gallons per day. But during the wet season, there have been discharge rates of two million gallons or more per day.
The plant was last upgraded in 1993.
