COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch District Library has announced that effective this Monday, November 16 they will be moving back to Stage 4 of their COVID-19 Response Plan which means all branches will be returning to curbside delivery of library materials and services only until further notice.
The library is limiting access to their buildings due to concerns about the recent increase in Branch County COVID-19 cases and for the safety of the public and library employees.
Library Director John Rucker says, “Most of our libraries around the county are operated by small teams. Following CDC guidance for quarantining has led to staffing shortages at four of our six locations in the past week alone. Two branches in the past week have had to be unexpectedly closed as a result. Since we can offer curbside service using fewer staff, moving to curbside for a time will allow us to continue to offer library services at all locations even if increasing numbers of staff are quarantined.”
All library branches will be open for curbside service daily on their normal operating schedule. Log onto the library’s web site www.BranchDistrictLibrary.org for hours for details and phone numbers.
